Botox/Xeomin
Looking to prevent fine lines and wrinkles or smooth out mild to moderate lines? Look no further than this quick and virtually painless treatment. Botox and Xeomin are a form of neuromodulator used to prevent and treat fine lines and wrinkles by inhibiting muscle movement. Frequently treated areas include the horizontal forehead lines, crow’s feet, 11 lines (between the brows), and radial lip lines; however, that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
The Treatment
A skilled injector will assess your facial movement and muscle mass to determine the appropriate dosage. After the areas to be treated have been cleansed, injection sites will be marked by having you perform dynamic facial movements – allowing us to isolate the appropriate muscles and treatment areas. Neuromodulators are then injected into the muscle using a very small needle and syringe. The actual treatment time takes approximately 10-15 minutes and most patients report it’s painless.
Afterwards
Immediately after your Botox treatment, you will be a little red and may have some bumps from the injection – but these resolve quickly and most often within an hour you can’t even tell you’ve had an injection. We recommend avoiding saunas, intense exercise, tight hats, and makeup for 24 hours after treatment. Our goal is to provide you with the best Botox experience in Lewistown!
Brands
Often you will hear people refer to receiving any kind of neuromodulator as “Botox” since it was the first neuromodulator approved for aesthetic purposes. Other brands include Xeomin, Daxxify, Dysport, and Jeuveau. We currently use primarily Xeomin, but are able to obtain other types if you have a preference. Although each neuromodulator has the same mechanism of action – preventing muscular movement – they are not always interchangeable for each treatment area and are not the same formulation.
